Facebook's New Streamlined Design Rolls Out for Spring

Navigating your Facebook Page with ease and grace? Well now get ready to reconfigure your brain again because the company is rolling out a new streamlined look for Pages on desktop.  The news follows after the recent redesign of their News Feed two weeks ago.

In March 2013 Facebook announced it wasn’t rushing to fully launch the new look and now here we are a year later and they’ve announced they are slowing rolling it out. You can try and move the process along faster by going to the top right of your cover art, on the admin panel, and pressing the button Join Waitlist.

The new look seems to have many exciting design changes that will make an admin’s work easier when accessing tools as well as navigation smoother for visitors. Visually, the page looks cleaner, inspired by a mobile interface and design trend that gravitates to larger images and less clutter. Here are some of the new features:


You’ll first notice a redesign of the News Feed on the Home Page, featuring larger pictures and fonts. This update re-emphasizes the importance of visual content. On the Page’s timeline, the right-side column now displays all of its posts. This one-column display means that all of the Page’s posts will appear consistently on the Page and in the News Feed. The left-side column features information about the Page’s business, including a map, photos, video, its hours of operation, phone number and website URL.


No matter where admins are on the page, they can now view information about the ads they are running and new likes on the Page, as well as unread notifications and messages. Facebook has added new navigation options to the top of the Page, making it easier to access activity, insights and settings. The Build Audience menu at the top of the Page offers direct access to the Ads Manager account.


The new Pages to Watch feature in the Page Insights tool is now open to all admins. Pages to Watch allows admins to create a list of Pages similar to their own and compare the performance of their Page with other businesses. On the “Overview” tab of Page Insights admins can see key stats about the Pages they are watching. The “Posts” tab of Page Insights includes a feature to view the past week’s most engaging posts from the Pages being watched.
